Value Oriented Training for ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran Volunteers
Professionalism is attained through study and constant, repeated practice. At ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran, however, the village’s vision and value-based outlook, centered on the principle of loving and accepting each person as a human being, is part and parcel of the definition of professionalism.
In keeping with this position, a day of professional counseling for National Service and pre-army service volunteers was recently held as part of the Israel Association of Community Centers’ Karev Program for Educational Involvement. The program, the purpose of which is to provide additional tools for working with residents during various activities, is now in its second year.
Approximately 60 National Service and pre-army service volunteers spend one or two years in various departments within the village, constituting a significant part of the village staff. These volunteers bring with them a vibrant, upbeat atmosphere, new initiatives and never-ending energy.
We will continue investing in these volunteers, incorporating them into village staff, providing them with value-oriented professional training in the highest possible level. Their activity in the village is a model for Israeli youth and for young people throughout the entire world.
