The ALEH Network was established in 1982 by a group of parents determined to provide a warm home and comprehensive rehabilitative care solution for their children, all of whom had severe IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) and complex medical conditions.

Today, ALEH’s four residential facilities provide professional care for more than 650 infants, children, adolescents and adults throughout Israel. Located in Bnei Brak, Jerusalem, Gedera and the Negev, ALEH’s centers operate under the umbrella of a nonprofit organization, offering outstanding services in medicine, nursing, health and health professions, rehabilitation, special education and recreation.

Over the years, ALEH has developed a variety of professional rehabilitation and caregiving programs relating to all areas of life for children and adults with IDD. Serving geographically diverse populations across the country, ALEH centers are outfitted with cutting-edge equipment employing the latest technology. Highly specialized customizations meet the individual requirements of ALEH’s diverse population, enabling the continued development of a whole host of specially designed programs.

Based on the professional experience amassed over the years, we believe that work/living conditions and equipment are not in and of themselves the solution. Rather, it is profound knowledge and insight into the functioning level and communication methods serving individuals with severe disabilities and complex medical conditions, which provide an essential key to their advancement and enhanced quality of life.

ALEH’s full range of multidisciplinary professionals – specializing in medicine, education, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, communication and speech therapy, nutrition, emotionally focused therapy, administration and more – have gained unparalleled experience and knowledge from their work with IDD populations. This they have applied to the careful formulation of ALEH’s unique caregiving program summarized below:
