Yael Shidlovsky – Press Paramedical Services Coordinator, ALEH Gedera
Yael is Director of Paramedical Services at ALEH Moriah in Gedera. She holds a master’s in occupational therapy, and specializes in work with people who have cognitive disabilities. Her responsibilities include training, developing and directing a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and communication therapists and rehabilitative assistants.
During Yael’s 11 years at ALEH Moriah, she has advanced many innovative programs to enhance the quality of life and functionality of the residents. These include the establishment of a fitness gym, adaptation of virtual reality technology, and development of an interactive website program for the cognitively disabled, where families of ALEH Moriah residents communicate during real-time via specialized computer programs and assistive devices. These innovative programs together with the research she has done have been presented at conferences and in professional journals worldwide, earning her international recognition.
Yael is recognized as a national advisor in the field of occupational therapy. She currently serves in an advisory capacity to the Ministry of Welfare’s Department for the Treatment of People with Cognitive Disabilities. In addition, she is a lecturer at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
