Taiwan-Israel Connection at ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran

The past year has seen an influx of volunteers from Taiwan to ALEH as the Taiwanese government began encouraging young people to broaden their horizons by volunteering in Israel. ALEH is honored that so many volunteers choose ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran as the recipient of their services and friendship.

As a result of this moving volunteer trend, Sophie Kuo of Taiwan’s GoodTV visited ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran to record for her local television program. Ms. Kuo interviewed Major General (res.) Doron Almong, founder and chairman of ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran, as well as a number of Taiwanese volunteers, some of whom were also filmed during work with residents.

In July, ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran was honored to welcome Paul Kuoboung Chang, Taiwanese Ambassador to Israel, and staff members of Taipei’s Office of Culture and Economics at the village.

During his visit, Ambassador Chang and his delegation met with the village’s dedicated Taiwanese volunteers who shared impressions of their work in the village and their feelings about life in Israel in general.

The Ambassador and his staff were duly impressed by the village and by the time, energy, passion and resources invested in residents. Upon conclusion of the visit, Ambassador Chang promised to continue raising awareness about ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran among the people of Taiwan.
