Story Hour Comes to Life at the Gedera Public Library
Good neighbors stay in touch.
The thoughtfulness displayed by Gedera’s Frankental Public Library never ceases to amaze us, and the recent invitation extended by library staff to ALEH Moriah residents was no exception.
Library director Mrs. Lior Chatucha invited students of ALEH Moriah to story hour at the library with professional storyteller Mrs. Sharon, whose scheduled appearance was arranged exclusively for the benefit of ALEH residents.
Stepping out of their usual daily routine, students walked to the library together with ALEH’s dedicated counselors and caregivers, an outing that itself was a thrilling experience!
Upon reaching the library, excitement intensified as we were enjoyed the specially adapted performance. In a charming story about a family of mice, ALEH’s rehabilitative workshop students learned that life’s best things can often be found right in one’s own backyard.
The outing to the library, truly located in our own backyard, reminded us that when a community is united, there is no need to search far. Indeed, the best things can be found close to home.
Thank you, Frankental Public Library of Gedera, for opening your doors to us during the year for so many activities. We are especially grateful that once a year you devote extra-special thought to our needs and invite us for such a unique experience. We feel so special and so loved.
As Shneor Makadi, an ALEH Moriah resident proclaimed, “It was fun! When are we coming back?”
