Who doesn’t love a trip to the beach? National Service volunteers at ALEH Moriah in Gedera came up with this initiative, so residents could enjoy the sand, the sea, and eating cold watermelon on the beach in Ashdod.
On Mondays and Wednesdays, a team of National Service girls join together with Moriah’s dedicated overseas volunteers – planning every detail so the outdoor excursion will be successful. They prepare delicious treats, towels, suntan lotion and hats – even mashing up some watermelon for those residents who cannot handle slices.
The group has a fantastic time – singing together, dipping their feet in the water, creating sand shapes and basking in the warm, fresh air. Afterwards, they all return home to ALEH Moriah – happy and refreshed, wreathed in smiles – and eager for the next outing!
