Running – and Winning – for ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran
ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran staff and National Service girls (bnot sherut leumi) were proud to represent ALEH Negev at the recent Ofakim Marathon.
Elizabeth Ederby, coordinator of ALEH Negev’s “Ofek” assisted-living residential home, came up with the idea. Her enthusiasm spread to the Sherut Leumi girls working in the village, and the morning of the marathon found all the participants at the starting line, proudly wearing their ALEH T-shirts.
ALEH Negev residents and staff members cheered the runners on during the race and waited excitedly to greet them at the finish line.
Elizabeth, who ran in the 10 km track, came in 3rd place, to the delight and pride of the entire village. The National Service girls, who ran in the 5 km track, also completed the challenge successfully.
At the podium, as Elizabeth was presented with a medallion, she proudly dedicated it to the village and the residents who were the catalyst for her success.
Elizabeth, we are proud of you!
