Phyllis Pollak Visits and volunteers at ALEH Negev- Nachalat Eran
July 2, 2013
Phyllis Pollak, a teacher for special needs children from New Jersey, heard about ALEH Negev- Nachalat Eran, and decided to come volunteer in the village this week, as part of a trip to Israel.
Phyllis stayed near the village, and came every morning to spend the day with the residents, in their houses, activities, and the safari. She even went in the pool to swim with the residents!
The connection she created with the residents was wonderful, and it was very difficult for us to part with her!
She commented that the village gave her a chance to get to know up close the daily life of the residents, beyond her experience as a teacher for children with special needs, whose disabilities are less severe.
Kol Hakavod on the blessed initiative!
