Nachat: Witnessing the Fulfillment of a Dream
Jan 2, 2012
Former United States Ambassador to Israel Dan Kurtzer recently visited the ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran Rehabilitative Village, where he received a VIP tour from Chairman of the village Major General (Res) Doron Almog.
Mr. Kurtzer brought along 30 students from Princeton College, proudly showing them the development of the vision he had shared with his wife, Mrs. Sheila Kurtzer, who was the village’s first President at the time of the village’s inception.
The village’s current dynamic President, Mrs. Rhoda Fischer, wife of Governor of the Bank of Israel Stanley Fischer, joined the tour as well. Rhoda addressed the students and together with Doron, they led Dan through the village and showed him the various centers and programs that have become an integral part of the village.
For Dan, it was a trip of nachat: seeing how the “baby” his wife had nurtured heart and soul had developed into a thriving village, with over 130 residents with multiple disabilities living an unsurpassed quality life.
Our deepest thanks are extended to Sheila and Dan for their ongoing support and commitment to helping Israel’s most vulnerable children realize their potential and grow and flourish!
