Lag Ba'Omer in Style!
May 22, 2011
In the spirit and flavor of Jewish holiday tradition, ALEH’s kids celebrated Lag Ba’omer in style.
The children themselves made a beautiful poster of a bonfire in their paper-recycling crafts workshop. Hung outside, it served as a perfect backdrop to the real bonfire, around which the children danced and sang.
A homemade cave, a carob tree, a well of water, great rabbis and the holy Zohar written by Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai were all present, bringing the story of Lag Ba’omer to life It was almost as if the children were in Meron itself!
The party ended with baked potatoes straight from the bonfire and delicious ice cream to cool off. Best of all, the children really experienced the joy and flavor of this special day.
