JNF Culinary Mission Partakes of ALEH Negev’s Unique Brand of Warmth and Love

JNF Culinary, Wine and Arts Mission recently visited ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran Rehabilitation Village as part of their Israel tour.

There they had a taste of the warmth, unconditional love and natural integration that is the daily fare for its multiply disabled residents.  The village offers them an unsurpassed quality of life in the specialized environment they need.

Highlight of the visit were the dedications by Jeffrey Menick and Phil Waldman.  The dedication of the Integrative Kindergarten, in memory of Raymond Alpert, brought the visitors to one of the village’s exceptional programs: a kindergarten for regular community children that includes Aleh Negev residents on a regular basis, teaching youngsters the values of inclusion, sensitivity and empathy in a natural setting.

Meeting Lian, an adorable toddler who just began walking despite her bleak prognosis at birth, was a memorable and touching moment.  Lian joins the kindergarten for various activities and learning experiences, and the children love her and revel in her accomplishments.

We are sure the JNF Mission left Aleh Negev with lots of food for thought and spirit!
