IDF Chief of General Staff Benny Gantz Visits Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran
Last week, Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran was honored by a visit from IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Benny Gantz. Lt. Gantz was accompanied by Major General (res) Doron Almog, Chairman of Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran, who showed him the Village’s new therapy riding center, hydrotherapy pool, safari, integrative kindergartens, and the bustling outpatient rehabilitation center servicing hundreds of residents from the Negev area.
On the way, the group met and heard the stories and impressions of volunteering IDF soldiers, staff members, residents and outpatients. Lieutenant General Gantz listened, hugged, empathized and was visibly moved by the love, dedication and positive energy that so exemplifies Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran.
“We aren’t grateful for the good in our lives until it is gone – this truism has reverse significance here, at Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran,” said the IDF Chief of Staff. “Here we realize the good in every daily happening, and in the ongoing dedication of the incredible village staff. Society has an obligation to care for those who cannot care for themselves – and you are our role model in fulfilling this mission.”
Major General (res) Doron Almog summarized the visit: “A strong society does not abandon its vulnerable members. The IDF Chief of Staff’s visit to show his appreciation of Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran, which is named after my son Eran, is a symbol of Israeli society’s acceptance of those who are different. This occasion gives a powerful dose of strength to the most vulnerable links in our society and adds another layer to the development of the State of Israel’s national solidarity and social values.”
