Aleh was founded in 1982 by a group of parents of children with disabilities which
remained unanswered and therefore called Rabbi Yehuda Marmorstein to action
for assistance. The organization was established to provide a therapeutic and
rehabilitative solution and to provide a warm home for the population suffering
from severe developmental mental disabilities and medical complexities.
ALEH has made a breakthrough in its awareness of the treatment of people with
disabilities and is considered a pioneer in Israel and around the world.

Forty years ago, a couple approached me. Their toddler suffered from complex
difficulties and needed rehabilitation. The parents looked at me in despair and did
not know where they would find a place that would be able to take care of their
son while giving him all the love just as they have over the years. Years have
passed and the baby has exhausted his abilities and become an active adult
integrated into the community, but I do will not forget his face and the face of his
parents. For him, for tens of thousands of children like him and their parents, I
founded ALEH. With a wonderful and dedicated staff of caregivers, teachers, and
rehabilitation teams, we give them a home. Our mission is in full swing. In fact, we
have not yet started.
