Good Teva Week at ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran

40 volunteers from the Teva Pharmaceutical Company came to ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran, to put on a volunteer activity for the students at the special education school.

Every year, Teva holds a week for the benefit of the community, called “Good Teva Week,” during which its staff members volunteer in various social frameworks. This year is the first time they have come to volunteer at ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran.

The Teva employees organized a very special event for the children, which included a singer, a DJ, huge puppets, soap bubbles, cotton candy, a make-up artist and all sorts of surprises for the students, who couldn’t stop smiling and laughing.

For the children, it was a wonderful activity and a great break in their routine.  They were happy, danced and enjoyed every moment. And it was a moving and empowering experience for the staff as well. Each volunteer accompanied a student between the stations, helping him or her play, paint, etc., such that even those with the most severe disabilities could participate in this special day.

Arik: “This experience put everything in proportion for us. You suddenly understand how much you have in your life, and how much we take happiness for granted.”

Yaniv: “It so happens that my nephew is a student who started going to this special education school this year. This was the first time that I saw him in a framework other than at home, and I couldn’t hold back my emotions. I am happy to know that he is in such a special place, at ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran.”

We are very pleased to benefit from the voluntarism of a leading Israeli and international company, and hope that other companies will follow their lead and join in the important work that we are doing with ALEH’s children.
