This past winter, a group of over 50 staff and students from three New York schools went to Europe on the Heritage Tour, visiting Jewish cities of yesteryear and the concentration camps. On their way back home, they stopped in Israel and spent some time visiting ALEH Jerusalem.
It was a meaningful and touching way to end a trip that was all about Jewish heritage: seeing the darkness of Europe’s annihilation of the Jews and emerging into the light of Israel’s love and care of the weakest and most vulnerable.
In the participants’ own words:
“My students and I had an incredible experience. It is an atmosphere of pure love which inspires every visitor to give of themselves. Your work is necessary & appreciated. This is a true demonstration of Ahavat Yisroel. May you continue to bring to all of Am Yisroel.”

“This is an amazing organization. It gives me inspiration to be the best I can be and gives me hope for these children. Interacting with the kids made me feel something I never felt before – it was an amazing feeling of happiness from making others happy. I hope I can come back the next time I’m in Israel.”
“I have always been afraid and nervous from doing these types of things. This has been my first real experience and it’s an amazing one. I love watching the kids smile. Thank you so much!”
“What you guys do here is truly amazing! This was the best experience of my life. Keep doing what you’re doing, you guys are our inspiration! Thank you for including me in this wonderful program.”
