ALEH provides advanced medical, educational and rehabilitative care to children and young adults in Israel with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as complex medical conditions. ALEH has four residential facilities that are home to 750 children. One of these children is Anna, an almost 12-year old girl with whom I am twinning for my Bat Mitzvah. While ALEH has physical, art, water and equine therapies (and so much more), ALEH-B'nai Brak, the residential facility in which Anna lives, does not have a full time Therapy Dog program. Research has repeatedly shown the mental health benefits of therapy dogs. They lift spirits, ease depression, reduce the feelings of isolation and anxiety, increase socialization, lessen boredom, and more.
I am raising money so that Anna and the other children at ALEH can benefit from having a full time Therapy Dog program.
I hope you will help me reach my goal of funding this program.
