ALEH Negev Residents Drumming on Our Heartstrings
Music is, indeed, the universal language of mankind. For the sixth straight year, students from a local public school in the Negev came to share the gift of music with the residents of ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran. They brought darbuka drums with them to teach the residents about rhythm and the sounds produced by vibrations on different parts of the drums. The ALEH residents enjoyed the music class immensely and the young volunteers internalized the joys of “giving back.” In fact, the endeavor was so successful that the student volunteers agreed to visit ALEH Negev once a week to pick up where they left off.
