ALEH FLASH MOB AT THE MAMILLA MALL
July 1, 2012
On July 1, ALEH surprised shoppers at the Mamilla Mall with a flashmob ‘dance.’ It was the first wheelchair Flashmob ever to be held in this part of the world! 20 residents of ALEH Jerusalem each accompanied by a volunteer waited in their wheelchairs at a different vantage point of the outdoor promenade and entered when the music started sounding to the tune of ‘Oleh Oleh’ (Israel’s entry in the 1985 Eurovision song Contest) Then as the crowd exploded into cheer, the residents were spun around in dance singing, “ALEH, ALEH.” It was over in a few minutes but the excitement lasted long after.
