International Women’s Day (IWD) has been observed since in the early 1900’s; in fact, today marks a century since the first official IWD was celebrated.
Since then, women have accomplished so much in so many walks of life — politics, business, social activities and networking, while still remaining at the focus of family life. Thousands of events are being held throughout the world today to inspire women and celebrate achievements in every sphere of activity.
To commemorate the occasion, ALEH would like to pay tribute to the thousands of women who have a tremendous impact upon our children’s lives, every hour of every day. From the devoted caregivers to the teachers, principals, therapists, doctors, nurses, social workers and volunteers, to the mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters and friends – we thank you all for the outstanding dedication, love and warmth that you have showered upon the 650 children that make up the ALEH family.
You have all played a crucial role in helping our children get the best possible care so that they can develop their potential to the fullest. In sharing your spirit, and looking beyond the disability to the child within, you have inspired us and brought joy into the lives of our special children, helping ALEH be a warm and loving home, where every day is filled with growth and love.
On International Women’s Day – we salute you!
