The ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran Rehabilitative Village was honored with a visit from MK Yaakov Edery, Minister of the Development of the Negev and Galil, this past December.
The minister received a background report about the village from Israela Nevo, Director of ALEH Negev. He toured the village grounds and saw firsthand the beautiful residential quarters and the new High-Dependency Wing with its first group of residents.
Mr. Edery was especially impressed with the village’s contribution to the development of the Negev. The opening of therapeutic services for special-needs people from the southern region, including an early child development center, specialized dental clinic, special education school and wide variety of physiotherapy and emotional therapy treatments, is impacting the entire region by enhancing the quality and availability of special-needs services in the south.
At the same time, the village is also creating work opportunities and financial stability for hundreds of southern residents by offering jobs, professional training courses, and scholarships and diplomas toward paramedical studies and caregiving skills.
At the conclusion of the visit, Mr. Edery signed ALEH Negev’s guestbook with the following warm inscription:
To all those who are active in this lofty mission:
It was my great privilege to visit the ALEH Negev Rehabilitative Village.
My sincere admiration is extended to the entire staff. May you see much success in all of your activities.
In gratitude and appreciation,
MK Yaakov Edery
